Granite Overview

Granite is a type of igneous rock formed by the slow crystallization of magma beneath the Earth’s surface. Its primary mineral components are quartz, feldspar, and mica. Highly valued for its durability and aesthetic appeal, granite serves as a premier material for advanced architectural decoration, interior flooring, and outdoor sculpture. Furthermore, crushed granite is widely used as aggregate in cement production and for embankment fill in dam construction.

Granite Crushing Process Flow

The crushing of granite typically employs a closed-circuit process that combines multiple crushing and screening stages to achieve the desired product size. The step-by-step process is as follows:

1. Feeding & Primary Crushing
   • Large granite raw materials are uniformly and gradually fed into a jaw crusher by a vibrating feeder for primary crushing.
2. Transfer & Secondary Crushing
   • The primarily crushed material is then transferred by a belt conveyor to a cone crusher for secondary crushing to further reduce its size.
3. Screening & Classification
   • The crushed granite mixture is sent to a vibrating screen for sizing and separation into different product grades.
4. Closed-Circuit Loop
   • Parts that meet the specified size standard are transferred away as final products.
   • Oversized materials are returned via the belt conveyor to the cone crusher for re-crushing.
5. Product Customization
   • The size distribution of the final products can be combined and graded according to specific customer requirements.
